Community Reading Night with Michigan Hispanic Theatre Company

This free table read will feature two plays being read by Michigan Hispanic Theatre Company; one play by Homberto Robles (Mujeres de Arena) and another by Michigan Hispanic Theatre Company founder Abi Villarreal:

Abi Villarreal is a Puerto Rican visionary of contemporary theater, a playwright and director passionate about telling stories that connect with society and human emotions. With over ten years of experience, he has directed and created works that blend creativity, social critique, and artistic sensitivity, guiding both young and professional actors to explore their full potential.

As Founder of Michigan Hispanic Theatre Company and Director and Playwright of Telón Azul, Inc., Abi has developed original pieces for festivals and educational stages, addressing relevant topics that invite reflection and dialogue. His work is characterized by transforming every production into a memorable experience, where narrative, performance, and aesthetics converge to impact both actors and audiences.

This event will take place in Everse Hall inside Grand Rapids Civic Theatre on Tuesday, September 22nd from 7-9pm. Come and listen to actors read two incredible and important stories selected by the Michigan Hispanic Theatre Company. Both works are Rated R and will be read in Spanish.
